Limmer Custom Made Hiking Boots "Norwegian welt" construction. The boots upper is single piece of top-grain, chrome-tanned cowhide from an 18th-century tannery in Wegberg, Germany. The 3.2mm thick upper, which is also leather lined, is held together by six rows of stitching along the instep (as opposed to the back of the heel). This makes the boot more comfortable and extremely durable. The upper is then stitched to an eight-millimeter Vibram sole. The sole itself is heavy duty and screwed together. Limmers take a few months to break in, but mine are now 25 years old and still look like new. To order see http://www.limmercustomboot.com/
